Leap Cards:

A Leap Card is a reusable, prepaid smart card that gives you cheaper fares on all public transport in Dublin. It is essential for students moving around the city.
The TFI 90 minute fare allows students to use any public transport in Dublin (Bus, Luas, DART) within a 90 minute window for only 1 euro.

There are two main apps you will need for public transport in dublin:
TFI Live App

Dublin Bus

Dublin Bus is by far the most widespread and heavily used mode of transport in Dublin. The bus network covers the entire city and suburbs, with high frequency and long operating hours.

Luas

This is Dublin's tram network, there are two luas lines the green and the red, the green line is most useful for students as it serves:

Technological University Dublin (TUD) Grangegorman Campus – directly served by the Grangegorman stop.

Trinity College Dublin – just a short walk from Dawson or Trinity stops.

Augnier Street (TUD) – only a short walk from the stephens green stop.


University College Dublin (UCD) – while not directly on the line, it’s easily accessed via Charlemont or Ranelagh stops with connecting buses.

 

Dart

Dublins coastal train service useful for getting to trinity college and city centre via Pearse street ot Tara Street stops.
